What is the Role?
As a Signal & Telecommunications Engineer, your main role would be to enhance the technical capability of the Company in the signalling and telecommunications fields. You will provide Signalling & Telecommunications technical support to various areas of the business, including Engineering Design, Operations and Tendering.
Other responsibilities include,
· Acting as a Contractors Responsible Engineer / Project Engineer on allocated schemes of work.
· Undertaking internal and external technical investigations.
· Ensuring contracts involving Signalling or Telecommunications are technically compliant with relevant Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards.
· Acting as technical contact and liaison with clients and sub-contractors in order to resolve any technical issues.
· Attending networking meetings with external companies.
· Carrying out risk assessments.
· Reviewing new/altered Group & NWR Company Standards to consider impact on the business
Who are the likely candidates?
· The successful candidate will be educated to HNC/ONC and/or Degree level in an electrical engineering discipline.
· You will also hold a current PTS certificate and have an awareness of Health, Safety & Environment issues. desirable skills Ideally, you will hold a 6.8.130 IRSE Licence, be a Corporate Member of IR
What Skills do I need?
· You will have experience of working in a signal design, testing and installation environment, with an in-depth knowledge of railway construction methods and materials used.
· An in-depth knowledge of Group & client Company Standards and an understanding of appropriate legislation would also be advantageous.
