What is the Role?

As the Principle Signalling Designer you will manage the day-to-day activities of a design office, independently check and producing your own designs. In association with your Signal Design Manager, you will be responsible to develop your team.
My client is currently working on projects at GRIP 3/4, GRIP 5 and you will be involved in these heavily from day one

Responsibilities include

· Assist the Signalling design manager in identifying the most cost-effective means of carrying out work
· You will deputise for the Signalling Design Manager and also act as a CEM and CRE( Signalling) when necessary.

Who are the likely candidates?

· You will hold a suitable IRSE license
· Candidates with signalling design licence 1.1.150C or eqivalent and having a log-book ready or nearly ready for assessment for a Signalling Principles Designer will also be considered.
· Ideally degree qualified and incorporated or Chartered engineer
· Corporate membership of a relevant engineering professional institution ( e.g. AMIRSE , MIRSE, MIET)


What Skills do I need?

· Demonstrable experience of managing the Signalling Design Production process.
· Demonstrable experience of applying the Signalling Design Production process to Network Rail’s GRIP procedures.
· Good understanding of Railway group and Network Rail standards
· Thorough and up to date knowledge of UK Signalling Principles.
· Working knowledge of MICROSTATION and PLANS software
· Strong evaluation and decision-making skills.
· Knowledge of CDM Regulations and relevant HSE regulation
