Our client is now actively looking for a Business Development Manager (Rail) to identify and convert opportunities to expand their business with Network Rail.
The key responsibilities within this role include:
• Identify potential project/contract opportunities in line with the Business Plan.
• Convert work opportunities into live projects.
• Collate results and provide reports on business development progress.
• Develop positive relationships, promoting a culture of integration and understand the company’s internal stakeholders’ influences.
• Foster key relations with the client and other team members, understanding all lines of influence throughout Network Rail
• Understand the problems, concerns and practices of Network Rail and develop service solutions which will provide the company to sell additional services to the client
• Identify areas to be flagged for improvement and identification of possible opportunities to sell additional services to client
• Be a key member in the formulation and implementation of the Corporate Business Strategy as part of the Marketing and Business Development team.
• A systematic and effective approach to customers and management, which will ensure accurate records are kept and retained on the database
• Provide advice to the Marketing, Business Development and Bid Teams in order to develop a system which shows customer visitation and results
• Ensure that the policies of the company are adhered to and that the requirements of legislation are met
Candidates should ideally possess:
• Experience of working successfully with Network Rail and other large complex accounts
• A network of key contacts within Network Rail
• Unquestionable track record of attaining work
• Knowledge of current trends and best practice in Customer Relationship Management
• Sound report writing and presentation skills encompassing both numerical and data analysis skills
• An appreciation for Network Rail’s procurement drivers and overall strategy
• A competitive, self starter driven by results with strong customer skills relying upon their relationship building skills
• An appropriate qualification and have sound commercial and business knowledge
• Ability to adopt clear and structured though processes
• Ability to work outside of their comfort zone, being able to find angles that will enable the company to be successful in attaining bids
• Excellent communication, report writing, presentation and IT skills
• An analytical and probing mind, which involves taking an active interest in the evolution of the multiple marketplaces in which clients operate
