Job Description
To carry out all normal quantity surveying duties on small to medium projects, or assisting Senior Quantity Surveyor on large projects.
Small to medium projects:
Maintaining professional working relationships with the Client’s commercial team and other relevant parties on financial matters.
Provision of sound commercial and contractual advice to the Project Manager.
Exercising full cost control of projects including providing and monitoring budgets and orecasts
Ensuring maximum recovery of contractual entitlements.
Preparation of commercial reports including cost/value reconciliations and cash flows.
Management of all aspects of subcontract procurement and payment.
Management and development of individuals within the commercial team.
Ensuring that systems, processes and procedures are maintained.
Promotion of the safety culture.
Large projects:
Any or all of the above accountabilities as directed by and under the supervision of the Senior quantity Surveyor.
Requirements:
Education, Professional Qualifications & Experience:
The candidate shall hold a degree qualification (RICS or equivalent)
Alternatively the candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven track record in quantity surveying
Principle job skills required:
Strong commercial and financial acumen
Proven ability to time-manage, set priorities and work to strict deadlines.
Methodical style of working
Sound knowledge of contracts
