Associate Director - Structural Associate / Associate Director - Director
The Role

The position is based in the Birmingham office. You will be responsible for the development & delivery of the Estates & Stations portfolio of the Birmingham office including line management responsibility of the technical team & administration team for this area of work. Reporting directly to the Regional Director.

Skills

 Actively contribute towards the companies excellence model through the adoption of their values. Assist the Regional Director in the development of a robust business plan. Engage with & support other business units for mutual benefit.
 Develop & implement a robust client relationship management programme for the Rail group. This will include key account management for principal clients to the Business Unit in the South West.
 Business Delivery: Understand & apply effective project management principles. Manage business risk and working capital. Display contract awareness & dispute management skills.
 Active in the recruitment & retention of staff. Positively sell the company at all times, ensure that staff potential is maximised & co-ordinate continued professional development within the team.
 Technical Excellence: Demonstrate technical expertise in the areas of bridges & structures engineering. Encourage knowledge sharing, will be responsible for overall technical control of structures projects.

You will be required to undertake the following key activities:

 Client liaison
 Bid Management and tendering.
 Project Management.
 Commercial Management
 Team development.
 Line Management of staff.
 Business planning.
 Management reporting.
 Financial performance review & analysis.
 Knowledge sharing & technical presentations
 Production of outline & detailed design solutions
 Report writing & checking.
 Use of design software, including Super Stress.
 Supervision of site work

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil Engineer C Eng. MICE or MIStructE.
• Driving license
• PTS
• Practical experience of civil engineering works, preferably within a consultancy environment
• Bridge / structures design & / or assessment Bridge / structures inspection
• Drainage & earthworks design & remediation
• Surveying / setting out
• Experience of managing programmes of work on-time and within budget
• Experience of the rail industry would be advantageous, but is not essential
