Our client has been created by formally bringing together the two businesses of ALSTOM UK Transport Information Solutions and Balfour Beatty Rail Signalling, providing a unique opportunity to offer ‘individual' or ‘complete solutions' to any customer requiring design, installation, testing, commissioning and product support for signalling, power and telecommunications

We require a Safety Engineer to ensure allocated SSL projects meet all necessary safety requirements
Positions Located in Borehamwood Derby & Birmingham

Responsibilities to Include:

· Delivery of contractual safety assurance requirements for projects undertaken by SSL
· Delivery of the necessary safety cases and supporting evidence for new product introductions
· Number and accuracy of reports produced
· Personal annual appraisal (PDR)
· Timely production of reports and paperwork
· Client and sub-contractor feedback
· Number of safety assurance audits conducted and reports written
· Technical brief attendance records
· Value of work generated
· Meetings and seminars attended
· Input to tenders
· Contract performance against plan for safety assurance input
· RAM plans completed

Qualifications & Skills:

· HND in an engineering or related subject
· Possess or working towards IEng
· Experience in safety engineering or safety assurance
· Experience in the Railway Industry
· Good interpersonal and communication skills
· Able to manage own and others time to meet deadlines
· Ability to interface with Railway industry/safety leaders in competent professional manner whilst maintaining SSLs safety and commercial interest
· Detailed knowledge of the ‘Yellow Book' procedures and how to apply them.
· Risk assessment skills
· Organisational skills
· Knowledge of Group Standards, client standards applicable legislation & internal procedures
