With an annual turnover in excess of £150m and a sound financial footing my Client is an established Main Contractor, now undertaking significant multi-disciplinary construction projects in a number of sectors. The combination of successfully completing high profile, complex Construction projects and the understanding of their Clients requirements ensures that the group have a steady pipeline of repeat business, and are continually growing in strength and reputation.

About the Role: My Client is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to head up their Rail Division. This individual will coordinate all Health & Safety issues within this sector of the business. Responsibilities will include developing and reviewing company policies; promoting compliance and excellence in H&S; assisting in the tendering process for future works; implementing a safety management system across the Rail division, liaising closely with Sub-Contractors on H&S issues and managing and mentoring H&S team. The successful candidate will be largely based on a £100m Network rail project consisting of major Civils and Telecoms Construction.

About the Requirement: Candidates will be degree qualified in Civil Engineering or have a relative qualification; they will have significant experience working as a Health and Safety professional within the Construction Industry with particular exposure to the Rail environment; Candidates will be well versed with all the H&S legislation and compliance procedures within the Rail sector and will be equipped with the necessary qualifications and training to command a number 1 position. Excellent client facing and team management skills are essential.
