The Associate Director will be responsible for the successful achievement of the targets established for the Swindon office within the Rail Business Plan. This shall include the management of project financial performance, budgeting and invoicing. The key elements of the role are summarised below;
Business Excellence
Actively contribute towards business excellence model through the adoption of the their values.
Assist the Regional Director in the development of a robust business plan.
Engage with and support other business units for mutual benefit.
Business Development
Develop and implement a robust client relationship management programme for the Swindon Rail group.
This will include key account management for principal clients to the Business Unit in the South West. Leadership & Team Working:
Strong leadership skills through the motivation of staff delegating both responsibilities and accountabilities whilst maintaining overall control.
Act with professional maturity, resolving differences and creating open communication lines.
Health & Safety
Ensure that health & safety awareness and training is maintained for self and team to the appropriate levels.
Actively encourage the dissemination of best practice and shall lead by example in health & safety matters.
The post holder will be required to undertake the following key activities:
Client liaison
Bid Management and tendering.
Project Management.
Commercial Management
Team development.
Line Management of staff.
Business planning.
Management reporting.
Financial performance review & analysis.
Knowledge sharing and technical presentations
Production of outline and detailed design solutions
Report writing & checking.
Use of design software, including Super Stress.
Supervision of site work
Qualifications
Chartered Civil Engineer C Eng. MICE or MIStructE.
Practical experience of civil engineering works, preferably within a consultancy environment, including:
Bridge / structures design and / or assessment
Bridge / structures inspection
Drainage and earthworks design and remediation
Surveying / setting out
Experience of managing programmes of work on-time and within budget
