Our client has been created by formally bringing together the two businesses of ALSTOM UK Transport Information Solutions and Balfour Beatty Rail Signalling, providing a unique opportunity to offer ‘individual' or ‘complete solutions' to any customer requiring design, installation, testing, commissioning and product support for signalling, power and telecommunications
We require a Rail Technical expert in a specialist engineering area especially CAD/MicroStation support and development. Positions Located in Derby & Reading.
Responsibilities to Include:
· Development packages delivered to programme and budget.
· Support of internal and external customers provided adequately and in a friendly and professional manner.
· Development packages comply with good design practice, relevant technical, professional and group standards.
· Accurate output with minimum of rework. (e.g. Error reports)
· Effective and organised part of a team.
· Successful audits.
· Achievement of further education qualifications where relevant.
Skills & Qualifications:
· ONC level education in IT support with experience preferably in CAD support and MicroStation programming.
· Knowledge of Group and company standards and procedures and HSE legislation.
· Good office applications and CAD and CAD standards knowledge.
· Engineering and project safety requirements.
· Ability to document user guides
· Ability to test software
· Knowledge of Signalling principles, Circuits and components
