What is the Role?
We now have an opportunity for a Civil Engineering Team Leader to run anew Civils Team based in our clients Cardiff office, supporting the Civil Engineering Manager. This role would ideally suit a newly chartered civil engineer who is looking for a new challenge to join a new and expanding team to work on a wide range of challenging projects.
Responsibilities will include;
· Lead a Civils team providing supervision and guidance to team members to ensure optimum use of resources
· Provide engineering judgment and experience within the team and mentor less experienced engineers
· Carry out work within an agreed cost and programme
· Carry out studies, designs and inspection

Some of their key projects recently include Earl's Court Station Modernisation, South Wales Resignalling, and the West Coast Main Line Upgrade. Their engineers also work on international projects in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

What Skills do I need?
Requirements
· Good understanding of the rail industry or other similar safety critical industry and associated rules and regulations essential
· Appropriate level of experience in civil structures design preferably gained within multi-disciplinary teams and covering one or more of the following
Station buildings and platform design
Structural design for Signalling schemes
Structure inspection, assessment, refurbishment & reconstruction design
(Bridges, Tunnels, Stations and Depots)
Permanent way S&C and plain line design
· Chartered Engineer (not essential)
· Civil Engineering Degree (or equivalent)
· Strong IT skills
· Appropriate health and safety training certificates
