My client requires a Contracts Manager for projects from £50k - £15m in the Devon and Cornwall area.
This client is a leading construction, civil engineering and property services company with expertise in delivering projects in commercial property, affordable housing, civic buildings, education, healthcare, airports, highways and rail.
The main tasks and responsibilities of this role will include but not be limited to:
Setting up new projects as allocated.
Management of site teams to ensure projects are completed safely, promptly, profitably and to the required quality.
Understanding project scope, constraints and contractual conditions.
Planning, programming and progress monitoring.
Adherence to all company procedures and the project plan.
Selection and management of subcontractors
Efficient utilisation of materials, labour, plant, and minimisation of waste.
Production of method statements.
Document Control and clarification of designer's requirements
Report to the Principal Director on the operational and financial performance of allocated projects.
Form good professional relationships with subcontractors and ensure they are dealt with in a professional and reasonable fashion.
Provide coaching to all subordinates and members of the site team.
Liaise and co-operate effectively with all departments of the company.
Attend Client meetings and advise on progress, commercial and safety issues.
The ideal candidate will be at least HND (or equivalent) or Degree in civil engineering qualified, have experience working as a project or contracts manager on civils projects preferably on structures, bridges and railway station projects.
