Senior Quality Engineer

LOCATION - Farnborough, Hampshire, South East

SALARY - £25580.00 – £38189.00 + BENEFITS

Key Task/Job Description

1. To manage and completely own Quality tasks within a project or business stream team in a professional
manner and in accordance with business processes and procedures
2. Lead routine Quality activities without immediate supervision
3. Lead non-routine Quality activities with some supervision
4. Supply a technical interface with customers (internal and external) at a detailed level
5. Encourage a continuous improvement ethos within assigned business area(s)
6. Make decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority
7. Provide help and direction to less experienced team members to support both their effective work and their development
8. To be able to access, have a clear understanding of and apply the Submarines Process Library and associated documentation, eg Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards etc applicable to your particular work scope
9. To be able to access, have a clear understanding of and apply the Quality and HS&E Management System documentation eg Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments etc applicable to your particular work scope and to adhere to all quality and HS&E rules and control measures
10. To undertake system and process audits required, in accordance with the audit programme and
contractual requirements
11. To produce timely audit reports and adequately close out any associated Non-Conformances
12. To maintain Department databases and records as necessary

Person Specification

1. Pro active in approach to work, self motivated and good team player
2. Good communication skills

Qualifications

1. ONC/HNC would be desirable, although all training will be provided
2. Extensive understanding of quality standards
3. Capable of managing Projects relevant to area
4. Member of the Chartered Quality Institute

Experience

1. Extensive understanding of quality standards
. Experience of project, engineering, planning and/or operations environment would be an advantage
3. An understanding of company regulatory requirements
4. Process improvement experience
