What is the Role?
A bridge team is expanding in Swindon, however similar positions are available all over the UK. The company have recently won many new projects and consequently need to expand the Bridge team within their existing Swindon office. They want to begin expand this team as soon as possible, and are starting at the top of the team by recruiting some Senior Design Engineer’s.
Initially you will be working on existing projects that the Swindon office is currently completing. Therefore you will need to be able to ‘hit the ground running’ and work well independent. Obviously, a lot of the communication will be done through email and by phone; therefore you will need the ability to communicate at a technical level without visual aids.
The organisation is keen to set the Bridge team up quickly and you will be involved in the recruitment process. You will then be responsible for this team for both their technical output and from a managerial point of view.

Who are the likely candidates?
Due to the complexity of this position, a likely candidate will need to have the technical ability to work on designs, as well as the managerial ability of creating and developing a bridge team.
As stated above, initially you will be working on the existing projects in the Swindon office, and therefore you will need to be able to work independently on complex designs, as well as be able to communicate any ideas and technical problems to the relevant employee.
A likely candidate will need to have achieved chartered status and have many years design experience in the field of bridges.
