What is the Role?
“Top 4” multi-disciplinary Railway organization require a Design Section Manager from their Swindon office They provide consultancy services that cover all aspects of rail infrastructure planning, design, project management, construction supervision and rail maintenance.
THIS ROLE WILL INCLUDE SOME INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL
You will be joining a major company with a well-earned reputation in Civil and Structural Engineering. They have considerable skills in railway bridges, stations and other civil engineering works in a railway environment. They undertake feasibility studies, scheme designs and detailed designs for all types of railway structure.
You will be responsible for the management and development of an additional Design Team within the Civil & Structural Engineering (CSE) team in Swindon. As part of your role you will be responsible for delivery of projects, also compiling fee bids / proposals for single and multi disciplined projects, marketing, and ensuring compliance with QA procedures. The design team will be undertaking a wide range of rail related projects, including bridgeworks, station buildings, platforms and other rail infrastructure works in the UK and overseas.

What Skills do I need?
· Chartered Engineer (MICE).
· Experienced Railway Civil & Structural Engineer
· Good experience of bridge design and construction
· Knowledge involving railway structures and rail related structures.
· Good leadership and mentoring skills.
· Highly motivated, proactive and a good team player.
· Communication skills must be excellent both verbally and written
· You will be willing to travel in the UK and overseas.
It is desirable that you are educated to Degree level or equivalent. Ideally you will have some experience of structural analysis software and commercial awareness. Some project management experience would be advantageous. You will be enthusiastic about developing technical expertise.
