One of the country's leading civils contractor, they design and construct foundations for all types of buildings, structures and civil engineering works. Extensive experience of piling techniques, in addition to diaphragm walling and ground improvement utilising environmental techniques.
A vacancy has arisen for two Contracts Engineers based in Gloucester, reporting to the Operations Manager.
Main Purpose of Job:
Assisting in the running foundation contract, ensuring that the company procedures, including HSEQ are implemented.
All preparatory work necessary prior to mobilisation, monitoring of site performance and costs, ensuring the correct execution of the pile design, plus preparation of accounts for submission to clients.
Key Tasks / Responsibilities:
Health Safety Environment and Quality
•Checking the accuracy of pile setting out, steel and concrete levels and Monitoring that the works are in accordance with the Specification.
•Highlighting trends and implementing improvements.
•Reviewing concrete over supply.
Method of Works
•To be familiar with the contract drawings, specification, and site investigations.
•To compile the Method Statements and Works Procedures jointly with the foreman in accordance with the contract requirements and specifications.
Purchasing
•To purchase materials/equipment etc as directed by the Project Manager.
Contractual
•Together with the foreman ensure all site records for delays etc. are completed and submitted in accordance with the contract.
Skills Required - Essential:
•Be able to work on construction sites.
•A good level of numeracy and be analytical in nature.
•Ability to cope with deadlines.
•Able to work alone and as part of a team.
•Be self motivating.
Education and/or experience - Essential:
•5 GCSE'sor equivalent as a minimum.
•Computer literate particularly with EXCEL.
Education and/or experience : Desirable:
•Autocad and other use of software.
•HNC in Civil Engineering or similar.
Working arrangements:Occasional visits to regional offices /sites.
Must have a UK Driving Licence
