My client a multi-disciplinary consultancy are looking to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer to successfully deliver civil and structural engineering solutions to a range of Rail clients in the South West.
The duties of the role include:
Production of outline and detailed design solutions
Report writing.
Use of design software, including SuperStress.
Hand calculations.
Management of CAD resources
Mentoring junior staff.
Client liaison
Liaising with internal and external sub contractors
Involvement with cost management, tenders, invoicing of projects
Client presentations
Supervision of site work
Undertaking safety critical responsibilities within a railway environment.
Working without supervision and leading a team of engineers
The successful candidate will have practical experience of civil engineering works, preferably within a consultancy environment, including:
Bridge / structures design and / or assessment
Bridge / structures inspection
Drainage and earthworks design and remediation
Surveying / setting out
Managing programmes of work on-time and within budget
Experience of the rail industry and a PTS would be advantageous, but is not essential
We are looking for someone who has the ability to work independently or as part of a team, has good IT skills, excellent communication skills and a degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
