An exciting opportunity has come about for a highly experienced Area Signalling Manager to join an ongoing project in the Hertfordshire area. The position available is with immediate effect offering a highly competitive rate of pay and benefits. SMTH certificate is essential and an IRSE Licence is desirable but not essential. The successful candidate should have a demonstrable track record of experience within the field, and preferably a formal qualification in Engineering.
You should possess first-rate engineering skills and thorough knowledge of railway signalling and project management while being able to integrate with colleagues, and operate with enthusiasm and a sense of purpose for the projects and the businesses.
• Management of Signalling Site managers to produce final end result of the construction within time/budget/to contract specification.
• To ensure contract is completed to meet Network Rail standards (subject to contract conditions)
• To ensure contract is completed to meet required Health, Safety & Environmental requirements
• To review all purchase requisitions/orders placed by Signalling site managers
• Manage internal interfaces, e.g. testing, design, installation
• Ensure timely production of all Signalling deliverables inc. Resource Estimates, Materials Procurement, Condition Assessments, Method Statements, Snagging Lists, and AMP, in line with Contract KPI Guidelines
• Review and approve all Signalling elements of Track renewals Plans Inc. Resource Estimates, Materials Procurement, Condition Assessments, Method Statements,
• Assist in the development of highly capable signalling team using training, personnel development, discipline, objective setting and appraisal processes.
• Motivate, develop and communicate with staff to build short & long term commitment.
• Engage staff interest in health & safety to minimise accidents & incidents through monitoring on site and periodic safety briefings
While IRSE Licensing is not a present requirement of the post, it is preferred that the holder works towards appropriate recognised qualification / documentation of competence
