We require a CAD/Microstation Designer- ideally with a background within the railway Industry- the role will be based at Reading or Derby.

JOB OVERVIEW

• Provide specialist engineering in the development of CAD/MicroStation products.
• Provide support of CAD products to internal and external customers.
• Provide documentation of CAD products as required.
• Assist with testing and installation of CAD products.
• Ensure all specialist engineering details are compliant with, produced and issued in accordance with defined principle and practices.
• Provide guidance and training for other staff as required.
• Liaise with .senior technical specialist to set up programs and objectives.
• Assist with planning as required
• Manage and record time and assist in providing time estimates for tasks

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

• Development packages delivered to programme and budget.
• Support of internal and external customers provided adequately and in a friendly and professional manner.
• Development packages comply with good design practice, relevant technical, professional and group standards.
• Accurate output with minimum of rework. (e.g. Error reports)
• Effective and organised part of a team.
• Successful audits.
Achievement of further education qualifications where relevant.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS+ EXPERIENCE
• ONC level education in IT support with experience in CAD support and MicroStation programming.
• Good office applications and CAD and CAD standards knowledge.
• Ability to document user guides
• Ability to test software
• Ideally knowledge of
• Signalling principles.
• Circuits and components
• Implications of working with other disciplines.
