What is the Role?
We have recently been informed of a position for someone to play an important role within the team that carries out a range of examinations, inspections and surveys on Network Rail civil engineering assets. It’s a role that will see you following our clients’ set of standard principles, practices and techniques throughout your work, as well as taking responsibility for managing your own programme of inspections.
Ideally you will be an experienced Structures or Bridge Examiner with HNC or HND qualifications, you will certainly bring good understanding of rail and road structures. Knowledge of inspection techniques and a valid driving licence are important too, and you’ll also need a flexible approach to working hours as this is a role that involves on-call, weekend and night working.
Responsibilities include the following;
· Carry out inspections, investigations and surveys of network rail civil engineering assets
· Apply standard principles, practices and techniques following established procedures
· Responsibility for monitoring and maintaining own programme of inspections
· Use surveying equipment to monitor movement in sensitive structures

What Skills do I need?
· Structures Examiner / Bridge Examiner, BSE – BSN
· Applicants will ideally be a civil Engineering technician qualified to HNC / HND level or have railway experience, candidates with equivalent experience or qualifications will also be considered
· Knowledge of rail / road structures, structural behaviour
· Good understanding of network rail or other rail infrastructure company
· PTS / IWA / COSS / ES competency desirable
· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
· Full Driving Licence is required
