Our Client is looking to appoint a Health, Safety & Environment Advisor to be responsible for providing advice to the Route Infrastructure Maintenance Director and team. Monitor compliance with legislative and corporate requirements. Promote a positive cultural and behavioural change in all aspects of welfare, health, safety and environment management.

Responsibilities:

Provide support to the Head of Infrastructure Maintenance Workforce Health, Safety & Environment in the collation of workforce health, safety & environment data.

Check that health, safety and environment management systems are adhered to.

Identify key risks and make recommendations for control measures.

Initiate appropriate analysis to identify adverse trends and make recommendations on corrective action.

Support the implementation of national safety improvement programmes.

Investigate and report on accidents and incidents and make recommendations.

Undertake Formal Investigations.

Monitor and report progress to close out non conformance reports and audit/self certification actions.

Undertake appropriate safety tours and staff surveillance and asset condition checks.

Provide support to the RIMD and team when interfacing with external safety and environmental bodies.

Essential:

Knowledge of maintenance processes and techniques
Knowledge of investigations process and techniques
NEBOSH Diploma or recognised qualification
Good interpersonal, influencing, communication and organisation skills.

Desireable:

Knowledge of operational railway environment
Institute of Environmental Management Award (IEMA)
Membership of a relevant professional body.
