What is the Role?
We presently have some excellent positions within a leading international consultancy dedicated to Infrastructure and Utilities. They specialize in Rail, Highway Design and Supervision, Highway Operation and Maintenance, Bridges and Civils, Water, Network Communications and Mobile Communications.
The rail management division are seeking a design manager to join a small team responsible for management and co-ordination of multi-disciplinary design teams based from their Manchester office. The team continues to grow rapidly and offers excellent opportunities for the right candidate to work within the rail sector and build upon recent project successes.
Responsibilities will include;
· Commercial and financial management of projects
· Developing professional relationships with clients
· Project reporting to Directors
· Participating in meetings and sharing information with the team
· Providing assistance in securing repeat business
· Identification of risks and potential issues.
Who are the likely candidates?
As a minimum you will have a related Degree and ideally a Bachelor or Masters Degree. Chartered status is an advantage however help and full support will be given to those pursuing their chartership exams. Project management qualifications would also be a huge benefit.
· Sound Financial knowledge
· Technical capability in engineering rail related discipline
· Experience in the design of railway structures and infrastructure
· Good understanding of Network rail and LUL standards, policies and procedures
· Health and safety knowledge
· Fully computer literate

· Project / design management experience within multi-disciplinary projects
· Excellent organisation skills
· Good business developer
· Good written and spoken communication skills
· Experience in report writing and dealing with staff at all levels
