Technical Author/Technical Writer/Technical Publications


An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Technical Writer/Author based in Leicester, Leicestershire for this large defence company.


Experience and Qualifications required:

• MoD Technical Documentation Experience
• Understanding and working knowledge of Army publications (or similar MoD military publications), including procedures and processes
• IETP documentation background (specifically Land Systems publications)
• Ability to use a variety of authoring tools
• PC literate with excellent MS Word, authoring and editing skills
• Ability to interpret ITTs and RFQs.
• Working knowledge of scheduling tools and control methods
• Thorough understanding of publication and proposal production/printing methods and excellent data management skills
• Understanding of storyboarding techniques and graphical software applications.
• Ability to tailor and enforce adherence to processes.


Duties and responsibilities include:

• Estimating, planning, scheduling, managing and executing a small to medium-sized new publication or amendment programme through to Customer delivery.
• Ability to assess, collate, format and configuration manage bid/proposal material
• Lead the draft/final production and delivery process
• Plan and control the production of the bid/proposal documentation, ensuring compliance to style and delivery requirements.
• Work in accordance with all company standards and practices to meet the needs of the department and customers.
