Job Description

Atkins is one of the world's leading rail engineers. Its rail business is the largest in its field in Europe.

We undertake engineering consultancy and design on Network Rail, London Underground and light rail networks. Our rail projects include major station developments, re-signalling schemes and multi-functional railway enhancement works.

We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader to become a key member of the Electrification and Plant team based in Warrington. The team produces building services designs to the Rail industry. This involves electrical design in a variety of areas including the following: Station Lighting, Station Lifts, Points Heating Schemes, Lineside Power Distribution, Stop Board lighting, Walkway and Car park lighting and Building power designs.



Responsibilities

The suitable candidate will be looking to drive the business forward through taking on the responsibility for the development of Electrical capability locally. This will be achieved through drawing upon your own experience and existing rail industry contacts. You will have the opportunity to work closely with other teams within the business on multi-functional project opportunities providing an integrated service that will delight our clients.

Technical support and shared workload opportunities would be supplied through the wider Atkins Northern Territory Electrification and Plant organisation and National Heads of Technology.



Requirements
The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:
  • Experience of Electrical design within a rail environment to BS7671
  • Degree in Electrical engineering (or equivalent)
  • Chartered engineer with IET (or equivalent)
  • Business development and negotiation skills
  • Project management experience
  • Experience of managing small teams of engineers
  • Preparation of tenders
