The Role:
The OLE Design Engineer will operate within the Electrification Design and Engineering function and will be required to develop designs for overhead line equipment related projects. The role entails operating within a team of Overhead Line Engineers and draughtspersons for the execution of projects in the railway field, together with equipment development and construction support. In the role, the OLE Design Engineer will be required to carry out design calculations and produce detailed designs drawings in accordance with standards.
The OLE Design Engineer will be based at our office in Liverpool, but will be required to visit sites both in the UK and potentially all over the World.
The OLE Design Engineer will carry out design in the area of Railway Electrification and will be familiar with:
• Mechanical System Design
•Component and Product Design
• Application of components and assemblies to Railway Routes
• Production of drawings and documents
• CAD applications
• Industry standards
• Design Office and Operational Field environments
• Problem Solving and solutions for build
The Candidate:
You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent qualification) in mechanical engineering and will be used to operating in a design office environment. You will be used to working within a team and working with draughtspersons to achieve the design requirements. You will have sound mechanical engineering skills and will ideally have worked in Railway applications and projects. A good understanding of standards is required together with current knowledge and experience of carrying out calculations and developing designs.
