What is the Role?

As a bridge engineer, within the Transportation division, you will be within a team of designers working on bridges and other structures. You will be responsible for a small part of the team, and you will be expected to ensure that the team prioritise the workload.

You will be working on both Highway and Railway projects, and will therefore need previous experience in the full life cycle of the project. The company are very large, dealing with many projects; so you will need to be ensuring that the team can work efficiently in a multi-project and multi-disciplined environment.

Due to the diversity of projects that the company deal with, you will be gaining previous experience in a large range of bridge and structure types. This gives you the opportunity to gain experience in a large variety of related disciplines.

Who are the likely candidates?

A likely candidate will have a strong academic background; a minimum of upper second honours degree is expected, and have achieved, or be able to show workable progression towards achieving chartered status. You will also need to have previous experience in the design of bridges, including highway and railway. It is essential that you have previous experience in steel or concrete, and have knowledge and practical ability using UK standards and codes.

You will be a senior member of the Transportation Division, and therefore a likely candidate will have experience running a team and prioritising workload within a multi-discipline environment.
