We are recruiting for a Railways Systems Engineer for our growing Transportation Middle East team based in Abu Dhabi / Dubai. The role of Railway Systems Engineer is a challenging and equally rewarding position presenting an excellent opportunity to help grow a major new business in the Middle East, to potentially work on an exciting and wide-scale and significant regional programme, as well as the opportunity to develop skills and career opportunities.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The position is for ensuring that rail systems integration is implemented across all our projects in the region.
Responsibilities will include but not be limited to, planning and organising, with others, the execution of railway systems integration activities, including:
• Development of rail systems integration plans;
• Setting up and managing a requirements database;
• Participating in systems requirements reviews and hazard workshops;
• Managing interfaces at the railways systems level and maintaining a log of railway level systems integration issues and assumptions;
• Configuration & Engineering Change Control Management;
• Verification & validation;
• Facilitating systems engineering/integration audits;
• Participating in systems level design review;
• Transferring skills to junior engineers and assisting with mentoring.
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
Any applicant must be experienced in Railways Design Engineering management ideally with UK and European engineering codes. This is an exciting opportunity within a leading global engineering consultancy offering skill set and career development opportunities.
The suitable candidate should have the following attributes:
• The candidate should have an Engineering Degree (or equivalent) with 3 – 5 years experience and a professional qualification;
• Any post-grad management qualification will benefit applicant;
• Experience in Railway Systems engineering and integration design/consultancy, preferably with experience in full engineering life-cycle, ideally within a large engineering or multi-disciplinary project;
• An understanding and appreciated of the complexities of a large multi-disciplinary project and how this can/will impact engineering design functions;
• A willingness and drive to develop and enhance your engineering experience and skill set;
• A personal drive to successfully conclude project specifics;
• The candidate should have excellent attention to detail, good communication skills and a willingness to learn;
• The individual should be a team player although capable of working autonomously;
• Capability to report and produce status reviews for senior colleagues with experience.
