Purpose of Job
The purpose of this position is to provide effective technical support to the maintenance team responsible for all aspects of Electrical & Mechanical (E&M) Building Services related engineering and maintenance works within the premises of Dubai Metro.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Degree or higher diploma in mechanical,. electrical or building services engineering discipline or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years relevant working experience in the design, testing and commissioning, maintenance of Building Services and E&M facilities covering LV systems & emergency power supplies, uninterrupted power supplies, fire detection/ suppression system, tunnel ventilation, heat exchanger ventilation & air-conditioning, lighting, lifts, escalators, travelators, portable electrical tools and equipment, platform screen doors, station and buildings automated doors is preferable
- At least 2 years of supervisory and management experience with the ability to manage a technical support team with an aim to minimise the system unavailability and asset life cycle costs of the E&M and Building Services assets;
- Considerable knowledge in maintenance planning, preparing maintenance budget, maintenance plans and procedures, technical specifications, safety and quality plans and procedures as required
- Professionally qualified with membership of a recognised engineering institution
- Ability to multi-task and analyse situations promptly and without bias so as to determine the proper course of action or alternatives without jeopardising human safety, quality and the committed performance targets
- Hold a valid driving license with good driving skill and experience.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Assist the Electrical & Mechanical Services Manager and collaborate with the E&M Services Supervisors in the planning, budgeting, management and allocation of resources for all aspects of maintenance activities covering the Building Services and E&M facilities
- Supervise and oversee all aspects of technical support activities pertaining to the section of Building Services and E&M facilities including engineering and maintenance work management, design modification, technical support, preparation of maintenance procedures and instructions, coordination work of engineering and maintenance works planning, possession scheduling and timetable, safety and quality plans and procedures
- Provide training, technical support and guidance on Building Services and E&M facilities maintenance within the Engineering & Maintenance Department and to the O&M organisation at large;
- Carry out 24-hour on-call responsibility for incidents and emergency within its section
Maintain accurate maintenance records of Building Services and E&M facilities; report to Electrical & Mechanical Services Manager any safety critical damage to E&M facilities that require specific expertise in a timely and efficient manner;
- Assist the E&M Services Manager and other technical support staff with the implementation of complex systems and new projects related to Building Services and E&M facilities
- Perform shift and emergency duties when required
Technical, Financial and People Accountabilities
- Meeting the Key Performance Indicators according to the targets agreed with the Electrical & Mechanical Services Manager.
