Our client has been created by formally bringing together the two businesses of ALSTOM UK Transport Information Solutions and Balfour Beatty Rail Signalling, providing a unique opportunity to offer ‘individual' or ‘complete solutions' to any customer requiring design, installation, testing, commissioning and product support for signalling, power and telecommunications
We require a Rail Signalling Designer to deliver design safely, to time, profitably and to customer satisfaction. Positions Located in Borehamwood, Derby, Birmingham, York & Reading.
Responsibilities to Include:
· Design packages delivered to programme and budget.
· Design packages comply with good design practice, relevant technical, professional and group standards.
· Accurate design packages with minimum of rework. (e.g. Error reports)
· Effective and organised team.
· Accurate and complete design records.
· Successful audits.
· Log book, CPD records.
· Achievement of further education qualifications where relevant.
Skills & Qualifications:
· PTS
· 1.1.110 or 1.1.150 IRSE Design Licence
· ONC level education in an engineering discipline, with experience
· Knowledge of railway construction methods and materials used.
· Knowledge of Group and company standards and procedures and HSE legislation.
· Good office applications and CAD and CAD standards knowledge.
· Ability to plan and produce compliant signalling schemes with minimum supervision.
· Knowledge of Signalling principles, Circuits and components
