Electronics Engineer / Senior Electronics Engineer
This role will be working in the advanced Technologies team who are currently working on the Kinetic Energy recovery System (KERS) project.
Applicants for this role should have extensive experience of Electric Motor and Drives design/development gained within aerospace, transportation or related industries.
A good understanding of the operating principles and design constraints for common motor types is essential. Familiarity with selection and evaluation power switching devices including IGBTs, MOSFETs, thyristors, etc together with the associated power circuit components, is also very important.
Applicants should ideally have experience with the usual software packages used for rotating machine design (MagNet, Opera, Ansoft Maxwell). In addition they should have extensive knowledge in the use of Matlab/Simulink and/or Modelica. Familiarity with CAD solid modelling packages such as NX Unigraphics would also be beneficial. Experience in the development of automotive hybrid drive systems would also be an advantage.
Innovation, pragmatism, motivation and ambition are all qualities demanded by this position. Good communication skills are important, as the ability to meet deadlines. The individual should have the commitment to work extended hours to meet targets when necessary. Applicants will be self starting team players who can demonstrate a track record of high achievement in their career to date.
Salary range for this role £40K to £70K depending on qualifications and experience.
