Our client is a leading, industry recognised, design-build contractor and asset maintenance company, providing a single source responsibility procurement route for the provision of integrated engineering systems to the rail and other infrastructure markets.
They require a Senior Quantity Surveyor to assist the Commercial Manager in advising the Branch Manager/Director on the commercial risk elements of contracts from tender stage through to final completion.
You responsibilities will include:
· Undertake risk assessment of the commercial aspects of enquiries
· Ensure contract documentation complies with company policy in all areas
· Formulate a commercial plan specifically identifying the activities necessary to protect the company and enhance the profitability of contracts
· Ensure that contract costs are monitored and controlled against agreed budgets
· Ensure that contract progress is monitored and controlled against agreed programmes
· Advise and assist in the preparation and agreement of interim valuations and final accounts
· Evaluate dispute information and prepare and agree claims for reimbursement of loss and expense
· Negotiate and manage the resolution of disputes.
To be successful in your application, you must have previous commercial experience, ideally working within the rail industry. You must be educated to degree level or equivalent and possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, together with a common sense and flexible approach.
