About the company: The client we represent has been established for over 70 years and have well respected name within the civil Engineering sector. Operating predominately within the utilities sector – (both heavy civils and streetworks) and also in general civils they now have a turnover in excess of £200 million. Continually trying to take the company to the next level through year on year manageable growth, they have forecasted an increase in turnover and profit for at least the next three years.
About the Role: Our client is seeking a Commercial Director who will sit on the operations board of directors and report to the Executive board. This is the number one commercial position within the operating company throughout the Midlands and the South. You will oversee three business sectors – Utilities, Tunnelling and Rail and have a Commercial Manager in each sector reporting directly to you. The role will encompass managing all commercial activities within the group and liaising with the Operational Directors in order to plan business strategies for the future.
About the requirements: The ideal candidate will possess a degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or have worked their way up through a company in a commercial capacity. With a strong background in the civil engineering sector, you will have worked within industry for at least ten years and have had exposure to framework agreements. Excellent communication skills and the ability to forge strong working relationships with clients and employees is essential to your success in this role. This role would be ideal for someone who is already at this level with their career or for an ambitious person looking to make the next step up.
