This is a very lucrative opportunity for an established Building Control Officer.
A building Control officer is wanted to observe, assist and participate in the following work activities, under the supervision and guidance of staff designated by the Principal Surveyors.
(a)the examination of plans, calculations and other details of building
proposals
(b)the inspection of sites and building works
(c)the inspection of sports grounds for safety-related issues
(d)the inspection of premises for entertainment licensing purposes
(e)the inspection of premises for disabled access and other considerations.
The building control officer will be conversant with all aspects of Building Regulations, awareness of current technology and legislation; have a clear understanding of Local Authority/Building Control functions; basic principles of building constructions, trades, practices, plant and equipment; also main areas and application of Building Regulations; understanding of the principles of Fire Precautions and protection; ability to assess and assimilate plans and designs; familiarity with construction
