What is the Role?
As a Divisional Manager Signalling and Railway Systems, you will be responsible
to lead, support and grow the rail signalling design team, providing support to the tendering and managing the delivery of signalling and multi-disciplinary feasibility and design projects.
Responsibilities
As a senior member of the management team, you will provide input to the leadership and development of the business across different disciplines.
· Manage and develop through recruitment the signalling design team, implementing appropriate procedures and work practices etc to enable it to deliver work in NR and LU environment.
· Manage the delivery of signalling design and multidisciplinary design projects to ensure quality timely delivery and achievement of project profit targets
· Manage the preparation of tenders and prices for signalling design and other related disciplines, maintain client contacts and develop opportunities
· Develop and maintain appropriate procedures to assure the safety and quality of signalling design
· Oversee the work of the signalling design team to maintain quality of delivery
· Work closely with the Rail senior management team to deliver the business objectives through collaboration, leadership and management
Who are the likely candidates?/What Skills do I need?
· Engineering education to degree level or equivalent. Chartered engineer
· UK Signalling design in mainline/ LU environment
· Preparing tenders for design commissions
· Managing projects up to a value of £1m
· Experience of working with other railway technical disciplines – eg: traction power, communications and permanent way
· Team management and leadership
· Signalling design experience (current or former IRSE license)
