The Role:
As a signalling engineer manages all signalling works in connection with Track and P&C Renewals in a safe and cost effective manner, whilst conforming to all contract specifications and relevant standards.
As a Signal Engineer you are responsible for the delivery of signalling activities for BTR and SSL Track Renewals in a safe and cost effective manner ensuring you conform to contract specifications. You will be required to examine the site ensuring preparation and execution to correct standards of a full and effective programme of works. The Signal Engineer makes executive decisions regarding the re-use or replacement of signalling components. You will be required to estimate the number of staff needed to work and also taking responsibilities of resourcing further if needed as well as managing all sub-contractor requirements and ensuring they abide by all health & safety issues when on site. The jobholder will ensure the effective management of signalling sub-contractor workforce to achieve high levels of productivity, safety, performance and attendance.
As a Signalling engineer you are required to ensure that all staff are suitably trained and hold all the necessary certificates when they are on site as well as conform to all
health and safety procedures.
The skills required for this role are the following:
Educated in the laws and regulations and have sound experience in the Rail Industry H&S training (IOSH) and knowledge of risk assessments
Track competent, IRSE license, Authority to Work certificate and an EAW Level 1 certificate
Excellent communication skills
Good management skills
