What is the Role?
This is a commercial role, with a major rail civil engineering contractor, with a huge work bank and secure projects going forward.
Senior Quantity Surveyor
You will be involved in a variety of commercial tasks that include;
· “Manage the applications for payment and credit control processes to maximise income, together with all processes in connection with costing and forecasting.
· Manage change control systems by identification, notification, presentation and negotiation of additional items.
· Manage and present documentation to support quarterly Cost to Complete exercises and monthly profit/loss Operating statements together with an explanation for any variances.
· Development, preparation and commercial management of sub-contract orders from initial enquiry to agreement of final accounts.
· Manage the resolution of disputes and have an understanding of Alternative Dispute resolution procedures.
You will be assessed by the following Key Performance Indicators.
· “Timely achievement of forecast figures for turnover, profit and income.
· Timely production of accurate internal accounts and internal/ external reports/ audits.
· Timely production of accurate cost and forecasting information.
· Robust and up to date change control system, leading to prompt agreement of and payment for changes.
· Risk Register commercial issues reviewed and updated.
· Up to date records, reports and libraries of standard documents.
· Project commercial team are well informed and providing advice to the Project Team allowing notification and submission timescales to be achieved, giving rise to few and quickly resolved project disputes.
· Timely payments made on successful, well managed sub-contract life spans, with few or no disputes.
· Significant contribution to the Corporate marketing, tendering and contract review processes.”
