What is the Role?

We have recently been informed of a new position for a Project Manager within the Rail Engineering sector. Ideally you will come from a consultancy background and have experience in managing large multi-million pound civil engineering projects. Contracting experience will be considered if you have the relevant industry knowledge.

As a Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of the client's services in a pro-active manner, generating high levels of client satisfaction, with zero safety incidents whilst delivering required internal profit levels. It is likely that the role will work across all client rail groups and engineering disciplines on a number of projects running simultaneously with an overall team size of 15 to 30.

You will be responsible for:

·tProject safety performance and ensuring compliance with the clients Quality System.
·tDeveloping the client relationship
·tLeading development of the Project Execution Strategy
·tLeading the team through the execution phase
·tReporting progress to the client, project team and internal management as required.
·tLeadership of change & identification of value delivered to clients.
·tDelivery to time, specification and budget leading with the preparation and submission of proposals.

Who are the likely candidates?

Ideally you will have experience of;
·Highly developed team building and diplomatic skills together with excellent communication skills - both oral and written.
·A track record of leadership in an engineering and commercial context with a history of delivering results within challenging parameters.
·Very good understanding of project financial management, budgets and cost controls.
·Very good understanding of project planning tools and techniques.

You will be required to have the following experience;
·Proven ability to successfully lead and manage multiple projects and tasks in the rail environment, particularly in the design phase.
·Good level of technical credibility in one or more rail disciplines with an overview of others.
·Degree qualified - engineering bias preferred.
·Exposure to the construction environment.
