We currently have an urgent requirement for a Section Works Manager on this project, who will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction activity on the project within the P-way discipline, managing resources and delivering work on time.

·Effectively controlling discipline and standards.
·A willingness and ability to take on increasing responsibilities and be accountable for decisions and actions taken in the course of the work.
·A willingness to participate in ongoing training and development, gaining an understanding of Industrial Relations issues.
·Understanding work objectives, methodology, safety arrangements, programme and operational requirements.
·Keeping good records and enforcing good record keeping by subordinates.
·Communicating effectively with staff, operatives, senior management and client representatives, having a range of soft skills to deal with differing work cultures and practices.
·Responsible for ensuring compliance with SHEQ procedures and policies, including quality of construction and environmental considerations.
·Managing subcontractors and suppliers.
Skills
The successful candidate will demonstrate a high level of understanding and competency gained through their P-Way and Civils experience within the Rail industry and a willingness and ability to take on increasing responsibilities. Supervisory skills are also key for this role.
You will have had exposure to sub-contractors/suppliers and be able to demonstrate an understanding of H&S and environmental legislation, company policy and company QA procedures relevant to work.
