Senior Sustainability Consultant – Low Carbon Expert
Background
The Sustainability Group operates at the heart of his consultancy, the UK's largest multi-disciplinary design practice, and has established itself as one of the UK's leaders in this field. The consultancy addresses social, economic and environmental sustainability issues at all stages of developments – from Master plan design through to building commissioning and occupancy. Services include the provision of specialist innovative Sustainable engineering solutions, thermal modelling, concept and detailed design, performance targets, whole life costing, Sustainability and Energy Statements for Planning, BREEAM, EcoHomes and Code for Sustainable Homes assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments.
Candidate Profile
You will have an innate enthusiasm for driving developments towards sustainability, through the practical implementation of the principles of sustainability.
You will have a thorough understanding of environmental, social and economic issues at local, national and global levels.
You will be keen to promote the built environment recognising the influence of sustainability and modern technology.
You will have a good understanding of the planning, design and construction industries and be able to work closely with urban designers, planners, architects and engineers.
You will be excellent with numbers and good with graphics and be able to work well within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
You will want to make changes both within the company and within the industry. You will earn the confidence of both external and internal customers. You will build relationships internally and externally.
You will have the personality and charisma to encourage people to work with and for you.
You will truly enjoy your work, maintaining a keen interest in developments in the industry, be enthusiastic about the design and construction process and possess a positive outlook on life. You will be driven and looking for an opportunity to develop the role and make a positive contribution to development of projects. Qualifications and previous experience
You will have a degree qualification in mechanical engineering or building services design engineering related course, or a Masters qualification in this subject. You will have at least five years relevant experience working in the field of low carbon engineering design and be registered as a CIBSE low-carbon consultant.
You will also have previous experience of environmental design within a commercial organisation.
