What is the Role?
As a Track Engineer, you will be responsible for sections of track to engineer and deliver on a number of different rail projects. The projects have a heavy rail emphasis on permanent way and track-associated projects such as; “large scale station remodelling, upgrading works to current track systems, construction of new rail track systems.
The projects vary from complex plain line renewals, large switch and crossing (S&C ) units, through to major track systems with associated civil engineering aspects such as drainage, embankments, power, bridges, platforms and signalling systems.
Depending on your level of competency this rail job, with vary from being responsible for a small section of works, planning, programming and delivering the section, through to managing multiple engineers on a large section.

Who are the likely candidates?
This is a rail job, for proven track engineers. Therefore for this vacancy, you must have some engineering experience in the rail sector. This experience must be from on site projects, perhaps, historically as a Technical Officer, or track maintenance engineer, with renewals experience.
What Skills do I need?
You must be a civil engineer or a civil engineering technician, with experience gained on the UK rail infrastructure as an engineer.
Ideally, you will know how to tamp, stress, order men, materials and plant, undertake vertical and horizontal alignments etc.
