Our client is a Nationally established Rail organisation, who has long been at the forefront of the industry, Maintaining ,Renewing and Developing Britain's Rail infrastructure.
They are seeking to employ a Engineering Policy and Planning Specialist
The purpose of Business Engineering is to provide cross discipline engineering leadership and support.
The position is in a small team providing leadership and management support to engineers for the submission of information to corporate plans and the development of asset management policies.
The Engineering Policy and Planning Specialist will:
Support the Chief Engineer and Engineering teams.
Manage and lead on cross functional issues nationally.
Ensure that a consistent engineering approach is established and maintained.
Provide information to allow informed engineering decisions to be made.
Manage the development and publication process for the client's standards.
Key responsibilities:
Coordinate the updating of asset management policies at appropriate intervals. Maintain and develop a process for reviewing the documents and for responding to comments made on them.
Check that all asset management policy statements are supported by appropriate business justification, including the assessment of business risks. Provide advice and guidance to those drafting the policy statements.
Support the development of improved processes and tools related to the submission of engineering information to corporate plans and asset management policy development.
Communicate the existence and purpose of the asset management policies throughout the company and provide briefing and interpretation of policies where required.
The ideal applicant will be:
Qualified to degree or equivalent level in the relevant disciplines.
Substantial experience of corporate planning in a major organisation and relevant engineering experience.
Ability to use corporate planning software.
Effective verbal and written communications skills are essential.
