My client has a century-long history of successful development in the wide sphere of railway engineering and undertakes a wide variety of uni and multi-functional rail projects across the UK. They are currently recruiting for a Validation & Verifications Manager to work on sites including West Croydon, Crystal Palace & South Croydon.
Purpose of job:
Ensure the assurance process is adhered to, providing support and guidance where necessary. Identify areas of concern and address / resolve with appropriate action.
The project comprises the provision of:
• New island platform & platform extensions
• Various civils work including the provision of a new mess and rest room.
• P/Way Plain line & renewals
• Track, foul and surface water drainage
• New, replacement and relocation of signalling & modifications to interlocking & SCC panels
• New and modified telephone concentrators, CCTV, DOO & DNO works
• Cable, troughing and UTX works
• Points heaters and power supplies
• 2 No new MIP lifts and associated shafts
Key accountabilities:
• Agrees the Approvals Plan with the Project Manager.
• Facilitates, organises surgeries for the design and testing team.
• Monitors and records approvals progress against the plan and issues exception reports and KPI's to the Design Manager and the management team.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
• Minimum of four years experience in a similar role in a railway/construction environment.
• Ability to use initiative and work independently
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Commercial experience in relation to contract delivery.
•The ability to understand and thereby communicate with a wide range of interfaces across the project.
• Must hold the appropriate professional qualification for the role.
