My client has a century-long history of successful development in the wide sphere of railway engineering and undertakes a wide variety of uni and multi-functional rail projects across the UK. They are currently recruiting for a Design & Construction Engineer to work on sites including West Croydon, Crystal Palace & South Croydon.
Purpose of job:
To control, direct, supervise, co-ordinate, monitor and guide the engineering activities on the project. To achieve a co-ordinated design meeting all Contract and Statutory requirements.
The project comprises the provision of:
• New island platform & platform extensions
• Various civils work including the provision of a new mess and rest room.
• P/Way Plain line & renewals
• Track, foul and surface water drainage
• New, replacement and relocation of signalling & modifications to interlocking & SCC panels
• New and modified telephone concentrators, CCTV, DOO & DNO works
• Cable, troughing and UTX works
• Points heaters and power supplies
• 2 No new MIP lifts and associated shafts
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
• An experienced multi disciplinary Engineer who can gain extensive knowledge of company procedures and personnel as well as rail and Civil related projects. Must be self motivated and able to effectively lead the engineers team on the Project. Must also be capable of interfacing with Colas Rail and Client senior personnel in an effective manner to achieve project technical objectives.
Other information:
• Engineering degree and Chartered Civil Engineer with thorough knowledge of infrastructure design, construction, operation and maintenance. Experience of business management at infrastructure level and the management of change.
• Previous experience in either an M&EE or Rail background is essential, as is working on projects of a value of £20 million+.
