Structural Design Engineer
Based in London
Salary: circa£350 per day.
Our client is a nationally established Rail organisation, who has long been at the forefront of the industry, maintaining its position as a leading contractor known for its skill and quality workmanship in its fields of operation.
This position involves the review and approval for our client of the civil & structural designs for a prestigious building development and associated enabling works including the new station roof.
Job Description
To assist the engineering team in the review, comment and approval of design submissions on behalf of Networks Rail. Design submissions including drawings, calculations, specifications and approval forms are submitted to our client for review, comment and approval in an agreed process.
To assist construction supervision personnel in the review of method statements from approved works.
To interface with other commercial developments.
Liaise with client, architect, civil & structural engineers and subcontractors on issues and represent our client in meetings.
Periodic site supervision of subcontractors and coordination with station management.
Essential Skills:
An engineering degree or equivalent industry-recognised training qualification.
Proven work experience in Structural or Civil design.
Good spoken and written English skills.
Strong evaluation and decision-making skills.
An ability to work and communicate effectively in a team context
Desirable Skills:
Membership of a relevant engineering professional institution (ICE), charted or working towards being chartered.
Site experience.
