A major international engineering consultancy, turning over in excess of £300M annually, is looking to appoint a highways and utilities design engineer in a client facing role at it's office in West London.

The successful candidate will manage site surveys; produce designs and mark ups for CAD (CAD skills are not required); co-ordinate utilities companies affected by works proposals; produce cost estimates and risk assessments; commission surveys and utilities searches; run consultations; brief for, and respond to, road safety audits; input to traffic orders and manage the quality and programming of projects. They will also liaise with third parties, including clients, stakeholders and the public.

This exciting and demanding role requires a Beng or Bsc degree in Civil engineering or similar; strong written and verbal communication skills; proven portfolio management abilities; excellent interpersonal skills; the commercial awareness to assist with profitable delivery of projects; the ability to demonstrate sound experience of urban highway design and interface with utilities companies, and sound experience of working for local authorities, with a good understanding of their requirements and key performance indicators.

An awareness of CAD would be beneficial, and a Master's degree or chartership status would be an advantage.
