What is the Role?

This is a site-based role on a major rail construction project in London. You will be part of a team of engineers, focussing on setting out the project on site.

The project is a major development in the East of London, and is part of the transportation plan for the Olympic Games in 2012.

A civil engineer can use this role to move into the Rail Sector. You do not need to have track renewal experience, but you will need general civil engineering experience.

Who are the likely candidates?

· Civil Engineers or Technicians, with site engineering experience
· ONC / HNC Civil Engineers with strong practical experience within civil engineering
· Track Renewal Engineers (Technical Officers) who want to move into major projects
· Graduate Civil Engineer – seeking major project site experience


What Skills do I need?

You must be able to confidently set out civil engineering works, with limited supervision. Whilst, the ability to undertake the office associated works of an engineer are valued and warranted. The client is looking for engineers, who will become experts at delivering the works on site.

In addition you should demonstrate that you could be involved in;

· “Carrying out short term planning.
· Completion of site records and the production of quality documentation.
· Input into Method Statement production.
· Input into Risk Assessments.
· Helping to determine quantities of materials against plan.
· Interpreting technical drawings. “
