ROLE: Telecoms Technician (Safety Critical Role)
PURPOSE:To undertake telecoms installation and testing work as directed
Key Result Area:
•Undertake installation work as directed
•Adhere to safety critical work regulations
•Effectively communicate task requirements to staff and interfaces
•Motivate staff, including sub contractors
•Comply with quality, safety and environmental instructions
•Attend team and safety briefs
•Undertake site visits as required
•Take responsibility for staff nominated as being under your control, including sub-contractors
•Complete required paperwork for planned work
•Complete site diary and forward to site manager
•Manage / control sub-contractors
•Assist in identifying plant needs
•Undertake risk assessments
Key Performance Indicators:
•Personal Development Review

•Safety record (No. of incidents/ accidents)

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
•Knowledge of railway telecoms systems
•ONC in electrical/electronic or telecoms disciplines
•Experience in railway telecoms
•Numerate and literate
•PTS and/or ST1
•Emergency First Aid
•Manual Handling
•Fire Safety
•COSHH Appreciation
•Health, Safety & Environmental regulations awareness
•Telecoms Installer (2.2.110) IRSE licence
•COSS
•TMTH
•Use of cat scanner
•Risk management skills
•Good knowledge of installation methods
•Computer skills (Word/Excel)
•Knowledge of method statements
