ROLE: Signal Compliance Engineer - (Safety Critical Role)
PURPOSE:To manage compliance with engineering standards
Key Result Area
•Review new/altered standards and consider the impact on the company in engineering, commercial & financial terms
•Produce technical reports
•Provide technical support as a signalling consultant
•Provide signal engineering input to multi-disciplinary projects
•Provide technical input to the company's tenders
•Carry out workplace assessments for company staff.
•Act as assessor verifier for competence assessments
•Assist in monitoring the engineering progression of company trainees
•Carry out risk assessments
•Assist in the preparation and dissemination of information through the technical briefing process
•Attend technical meetings and briefings with other construction and rail companies
•Assist with the audit company departments, sub-contractors and suppliers on technical compliance with relevant Group, and Company standards
•Application of ‘yellow book' engineering principles
•Provide input to the development of the Business Management System
•Assist the SHEQ department in the investigation of engineering incidents, making recommendations for future preventative action as appropriate

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
•BSc level education in an engineering discipline
•5 - 7 years experience of working in signal design, testing or installation at a senior level
•PTS
•Engineering Manager (Engineer) (6.8.105) IRSE licence
•Be or working towards a Member of the IRSE
•Possess or be working towards IEng
•Report writing skills
•Computer literacy
•Knowledge of risk assessment techniques
•A1 and V1 assessor qualifications
