We are currently looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to work for a specialist civil engineering firm operating within the railways industry. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for a number of duties, including feasibility and options reports, design and analysis of structures, shafts, tunnels, bridges including the preparation of work for CAD, preparation of calculations, written reports and checking of contract drawings, site surveys and appraisals of bridges, structures shafts, tunnels, earthworks and foundations, Checking of calculations done by other engineers, checking of drawings, liaison with clients, attending meetings on site, progress meetings, design review meetings and project management, including cost/commercial aspects of projects.
Applicants must be degree qualified in civil engineering (or similar) and be Chartered or approaching chartership. You must also Be familiar with either UK standards or equivalent European or Euro Codes, be able to work in a multi-disciplinary team and have excellent communication skills in IT, verbal and written forms (in English). You must also have at least 5 years post graduate experience working in a design environment. |
