What is the Role?
As a Tester In Charge, you would be responsible for the planning, management and the complete testing of the signalling scheme. You will also be responsible to ensure that the signalling project is managed and delivered on time, to budget and to group standards.
Key responsibilities include
· Effectively managing and motivating the scheme testing staff
· Management of all testing interfaces
· Taking account of whole contract, identify potential variations and discuss with Project Manager/Tendering Dept.
· Ensure that the contract is completed to meet required Health, Safety & Environmental requirements
· Identification of potential process improvements and make recommendations for implementation
· Effectively carry out team briefing in technical documents and commissioning
· Manage testers KPI’s
· Carry out risk assessments
· Production of testing documents
· Manage signalling disconnections
· Carrying out audits when required
Who are the likely candidates?
· SMT Handbook qualified
· HNC or equiv. in Elec. Engineering
· Mod. 1/3/4 & ideally Mod. 2
· PTS
· COSS
· TIC Licence
What Skills do I need?
· Knowledge of HSE requirements
· Appreciation of design & installation
· Knowledge of contract conditions
· Understanding of planning process
· Knowledge of risk assessment process
· Knowledge of Auditing
