We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to take a lead role within our Building Services Team and report directly to the Head of Building Services.
Based in our modern office in Cambridge, you will work in a team of 15 Building Services Engineers and get involved in a unique blend of projects and influence how the allocated budget of £45 million (2008) will be spent.
The Company:
We are part of the National Research Council, employ over 400 staff and provide Consultancy Services, scientific research, surveys, construction, Facilities Management and Maintenance services throughout some of the most challenging and remote parts of the world.
The role:
·Responsible for design, specification, procurement and maintenance of all electrical services.
·Design of renewable energy systems
·Establishing SOP's and “Best Pratices” for all Electrical services.
·Introducing new techniques and systems to overcome problems specific to the specific / unique environment.
·Improving operating efficiency and safety for the 5 sites
·Financial and Project management
·Managing contractors on installation and maintenance projects.
·Managing the internal Building Services team.
·Business development and raising the public awareness for the group.
·Publishing papers that will significantly benefit the wider community.
The successful Electrical Design Engineer will be Degree qualified, have relevant consultancy experience, be able to manage a team and projects and have some experience in Energy efficiency / Sustainability.
